Jessica Killon, a graduate of the Early Childhood Education program, plans to become an elementary school teacher and make a meaningful difference in children’s lives.
“Ever since kindergarten, I鈥檝e looked up to my teachers鈥攖hey inspired me and made learning exciting. From a young age, I knew I wanted to follow in their footsteps and become a teacher myself,” Killon shared.
She noted that her professors and instructors have helped her enjoy her experience at Pierpont. They each brought their own strengths, support, and encouragement into the classroom. Her favorite class was Emergent Literacy in Early Childhood Education. “It helped me understand how young children begin to develop language and literacy skills, and it gave me practical tools to support early reading and writing in the classroom,” she added.
At 色盒直播, Killon was part of the Student Government Association (SGA). It allowed her to represent her peers and be involved in campus life. Her favorite memory was attending the campus picnic. “It was such a fun and welcoming event that made me feel like part of the community鈥攁nd it鈥檚 actually what got me interested in joining the Student Government Association!” Killon recommends that her peers take advantage of what 色盒直播 has to offer.

I鈥檓 incredibly grateful for my time at Pierpont. The friendships, faculty support, and experiences have helped shape me into the person I am today, and I鈥檓 excited for what鈥檚 ahead.”
Killon plans to continue her education at WVU in the Elementary Education (K-6) program with a minor in Child Development and Family Studies.
